Help crashes mk5 gti

Hi guys

Right I was on my way the other day to the shops. When some idiot pulled out on my from parked iv hit him the damage is to the passenger side wing and front bumper and smashed out the front light but under the wing the is twisted metal. What I want to know is does the wing have a housing tht can be replaced or will this be structural damage. Arrgghh my baby is messed up

Then dont worry about it, what will be will be. It will all be sorted.

sorry to hear of this - just as long as nobody was hurt. that's the important thing. if you open the bonnet you should be able to see the chassis legs and whether they're bent or not. a bent slam panel should also give a clue if something's been twisted.

Cheers guys his insurer is coming to collect my car. They have offered me a car for now will my traders policy cover this car ?

Hi mate, sorry to hear your bad news. But in general if the third parties insurance conmpany is dealing with the repairs to your vehicle and also supplying you with a courtesy car then they will also provide insurance cover for that car as well. So you wouldnt need to worry about that unless they specify otherwise.

Sorry to hijack thread..anybody have experience using "Absolute Accident Management"? They sort everything out for you on behalf to claim with insurance company.

Hi Numec, it appears on this occasion the third party insurance company have already admitted liability, either that or they are dealing with the matter on a "without predjudice" basis. Either way given that they are collecting the car shortly the whole proceedure should just take as long as it takes to repair MC GTI's vehicle. They wont want to drag it out as they are providing a courtesy car as well which costs money so the sooner they can get the car repaired the better for them. Hope that helps mate.

Thank you but is it normally take 3 weeks to get everything done? Any excess payment needed?

No worries mate.

If you are using an accident management company or dealing directly with the third party insurers then each claim is dealt with on its own merit and therefore you cant really put an exact timeline on it. However, if the third party insurers agree to deal with the claim straight away, then depending on the amount of damage done, the whole proceedure shouldn't take that long. The delays can come when liability is not admitted and you have to go back and forth with the insurers trying to prove liability. But dealing directly with a third party insurer means that, should they agree to accept liability then you would not have any excess to pay. Obviously if you have comprehensive cover you could use your own insurers to have your car repaired but then you would have to pay your policy excess and your no claims bonus would be reduced until such time as the claim has been settled in your favour.
